Monica moved from her hometown of Buffalo, NY to the Bay Area as a competitive sailor while finishing up her Ph.D. in education. Happily on dry land now, Monica is working to expand our beloved libraries. She uses she/her pronouns and is committed to a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion every step. Her career includes university administration, program building, and mentorship of at-risk college students. Monica believes how we spend our time and our money should reflect our values. For fun, she loves flower arrangement, fiction by women of color, yoga, and her paddleboard. Y ella habla español también!
