Here’s How to Donate Books
Your book donations help Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries support our library system and its programs and activities for everyone.
Book Donations
The Friends welcome your gently used books for our book sales. We accept books in good condition including fiction, nonfiction, textbooks, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks.
Dictionaries, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, and magazines cannot be accepted.
Capitola Bookstore is Open
Thanks to the generosity of the Capitola Mall, the Capitola Library Friends host a bookstore in the mall at space H4.
There are currently thousands of used items in the shop: books of all topics and in multiple languages, CDs, DVDs, and more. Most items sell for $1 or $2. The funds are used to enhance the Capitola Branch Library. Cash or check only, please.

Monday: 12:00-5:00,
Tuesday: 11:00-5:00,
Wednesday through Sunday: 11:00-6:00
Book Cart Locations
