Behind the Face: An exhibit at the Aptos Branch Library. Attend the artist reception on Sat. May 16 with the Aptos Library Friends.
This new exhibit by Sefla Joseph is a series of abstract portraits on paper in charcoal, chalk, and ink which encourage us to look a little longer. Some of the work is “non-finito” – deliberately left unfinished – inviting the viewer to participate in completing any unfinished areas.
Also included in the exhibit are several abstracts and figurative pieces on canvas, done in acrylic and mixed media.
Joseph has been an Open Studios Artist for 21 years and leads workshops and classes in person and on Zoom.
