Garfield Park Library Friends are hosting their annual Book Sale on Saturday, June 6, from 11 am to 3 pm, under the canopy at the Garfield Park Branch. This year the sale is joined by a featured author reading and an open mic.
At 1:30 pm, Westside Author Clifford Mae Henderson will read from her work, including her book Bait and Witch and her forthcoming novel, Perfect Little Worlds. Henderson is a longtime presence in the Santa Cruz writing community, and this is a good opportunity to hear her read in a relaxed, outdoor setting.
The Open Mic follows at 2 pm. Writers from Writers Over 55 and previous Westside Authors will read, and the public is welcome to participate — each reader gets five minutes. If you’ve been working on something and want to share it, this is an open and welcoming room to do it

The book sale runs the full day and is open to all ages. Free to attend.
