During the 2024-25 school year, Kara Saki designed and built four Lion King masks for the Scotts Valley Middle School production of Lion King Jr. She received well deserved applause and recognition for her unique and marvelous creations.
The Arts Commission of Santa Cruz County awarded Kara a Spotlight Award in 2025. Through the Spotlight Award, the County Arts Commission publicly recognizes individuals who have achieved a high level of excellence and creativity in their work, but who have not received widespread acknowledgment of their talent. Hot on the heels of the Spotlight Awards exhibition at the County Government Center, the Scotts Valley Library Friends are thrilled to present Kara’s Lion King masks in the teen area of the Scotts Valley Library.
The show will run from January 3rd through April 3rd. Join us in the Scotts Valley Teen Room on January 31st from 2-4 PM to celebrate Kara Saki’s Lion King mask art. Light refreshments will be served.
