Neighborhood Resilience Workshop at the Branciforte Branch Nov 11

Resiliency workshop

When the storms of recent winters flooded roads and knocked out power across Santa Cruz County, many of us learned a hard lesson: the people next door are often our first and best resource in an emergency. Knowing your neighbors, having a plan, and understanding what help is available can make all the difference when disaster strikes.

Be sure to attend the Neighborhood Sustainability and Resiliency Workshop on Tuesday, November 10, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Community Room at the Branciforte Branch Library (230 Gault St., Santa Cruz).

Presented by the City of Santa Cruz in partnership with Ecology Action, this free workshop is designed to help community members:

  • Build neighborhood connections so you know who you can count on, and who might need a hand
  • Boost your emergency preparedness and confidence in the face of climate-related disasters
  • Discover local resources that support sustainable, resilient habits at home and in your community

The workshop will be led by William Kelley, a Management Analyst with the City of Santa Cruzโ€™s Climate Action Program. William works on projects that reduce community-wide emissions, support coastal and climate resilience, and help create a greener Santa Cruz.

Whether youโ€™re a longtime resident or new to the neighborhood, this is a great chance to meet your neighbors, ask questions, and walk away with practical steps you can take right away.
