Sarah Beck is a seasoned nonprofit leader who has worked in the museum, public garden, and media fields. As Executive Director of Pacific Horticulture, Sarah built a team to deliver new media educational content, hosted the award-winning Garden Futurist podcast, and gained national recognition for awards in climate-resilient landscape design. Sarah served as Director of Programs & Education at the American Public Gardens Association, where she supported public gardens’ efforts to engage and represent their communities in visitation and all levels of leadership. Previously Sarah managed the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden at the New York Botanical Garden, leading a multigenerational team to deliver plant science education to tens of thousands of children a year.
Sarah is a passionate advocate for the role of our public libraries as centers of lifelong learning and incubators of community-wide innovation. She has lived with her family in Santa Cruz since 2018.
